Market Floors
The Regulator set floor prices for all listed securities taking into account their average closing prices of five sessions executed since 24th July 2022 to 28th July 2022 and also be considered as lowest limit of the circuit breaker. You are able to trade below the floor off market under certain conditions.
MARKET REGULATIONS
Floor Prices
The Bangladesh Securities Exchange Commission imposed floor prices as a temporary measure to regulate price movements. Floor prices for all listed securities were fixed taking into account their average closing prices of the five days from 24t July 2022 to 28th July 2022. The upper limit of the circuit breaker which is 10% shall remain unchanged. This rule has been effective from the 31st July 2022 and remains in force.
Foreign Ownership Restriction
Foreign investors are allowed to own 100% of all listed stocks except for the
banking stocks and NBFIs where they can only own up to 9.99%
Disclosure Rules
Custodians have the responsibility to make sure that the limit is not breached
since cash and share account is maintained at their end.
Investors must get the approval of Bank of Bangladesh prior to the ownership of
5% of any listed financial stock.
For non-financial stocks, investors must report and take prior approval 
of holdings of 10% to BSEC, exchange and issuer.
